This year-long process is bringing Richmond community members together to articulate a new vision for the town's future, identify what's working and what could be better, and develop strategies for moving forward. The result will be a new Town Plan, lots of new energy, and a long to-do list. Read on to learn more about the vision and draft town plan.

It's here! After reading and processing nearly 850 comments, surveys, interviews and other material, we are thrilled to share our community vision statement.
This statement to the left is the preamble. Click to see the eleven core themes and details that the community cares most about. The vision will directly help us identify strategies for moving forward and make decisions about our town plan. Vision SurveyWe received nearly 400 responses to a community vision survey over the summer, with people commenting on what they love about Richmond and changes they'd like to see. An additional 300 students completed a survey to share what they want for Richmond's future. Dive in and explore the results.

With our vision in places, hundreds of Richmond community members weighed in what we can do to make that vision real. A draft is currently available on the town's main website, and a public hearing will be held on 12/14/2017 at 7pm in the Town Center Meeting Room to receive comments.
Draft Future Land Use MapNearly 50 people attended a mapping workshop in May and helped us identify areas in town that are best suited to neighborhoods and housing, businesses and downtown, agriculture and recreation, and more.
The map is now included in the town plan draft! See the Richmond Town website to see the plan and map drafts! |
