What do you love about Richmond and want for its future? What would make Richmond a better place to live, work, play and learn? Richmond’s Our Town, Our Future project received nearly 850 responses to those questions this summer. The Town Plan Steering Committee read them all and wove them into a draft vision statement for our future. Now tell us whether we got it right!
Join us for a Vision Unveiling celebration & open house at the Camel’s Hump Middle School cafeteria on Saturday, September 12, from 9 a.m. until noon. Come hear what people said about Richmond today and their hopes for the future. See the vision statement and add your thoughts. And help us identify strategies and ideas to make Richmond even stronger moving forward.
There will be goodies at 9 AM, a short presentation at 9:30, and an open house from 10-12. We’ll have food, music and kids’ activities throughout the day. We welcome participation from anyone who cares about Richmond - whether you live here, work here, go to school here, or just want to help shape Richmond’s future.
If you can’t attend, you can still weigh in. The draft vision is posted online and you can share your comments at www.richmondvtfuture.weebly.com. Once finalized, the vision will be used to help shape Richmond’s new Town Plan and make important decisions about our land use, transportation, social services, and more.
Visit us online for more information about this project, draft documents, events calendars and data about Richmond. We also invite you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram at @richmondvtfuture and stay in touch! There will be more community workshops and opportunities to get involved this fall.
